One hashi at a time

November 27, 2009. One of the first things I wanted to get was a pair of reusable chopsticks (hashi) that I could keep in my bag. Many of Tokyo's eating places provide customers with disposable chopsticks. In this city where everyone seems to be in a hurry, eating out is quick and convenient (and relatively not all that expensive compared to buying ingredients separately and cooking at home). Imagine the amount of throwaway chopsticks that the city collects each day. Resolving not to add to that, I got my own set of reusables at the 100 yen shop. Not bad eh?
