November 24, 2009. Fresh off the plane into a cool and crisp Tokyo. I had my first ever Thanksgiving Dinner with hubby and our good friend Bob at Suji's Restaurant, an event organized by the Democrats Abroad. The turkey was very tasty (hubby and I were amused to know that I liked white meat while he liked the dark meat), the stuffing (now I know what that is) was just sinful, and the gravy deserves to be a soup dish. For dessert, we had pumpkin pie which was very refreshing (it almost had a citrus touch to it). Towards the end of the dinner, they raffled off a coffeetable book of Obama's inauguration. Hubby was asked to pick out a name from the fishbowl and he picked my name! There is a lot to be grateful for this year.
